Michael Shenkman has 30 years experience as a business executive, attorney and entrepreneur. Mr. Shenkman has developed a particular expertise in corporate turnarounds, restructurings and rehabilitations through his work with a variety of businesses during the past 18 years.
Mr. Shenkman's early experience was obtained in New York City through employment at Prudential Insurance Co. of America; Commercial Union Insurance Company and Home Insurance Co. Mr. Shenkman is a licensed attorney and served as outside counsel to American International Group and as Senior Counsel to Home where he was responsible for corporate acquisitions; asset divestitures and other corporate investment banking transactions.
Mr. Shenkman's turnaround experience includes acquisition, restructuring and sale of a Florida domestic property/casualty insurer; creation and funding of a Florida domestic insurer to write personal lines insurance; restructuring and sale of a Pennsylvania Mutual Insurer that was undertaken with the cooperation of the Pennsylvania Dept. of Insurance, and restructuring of a Caribbean Surety Insurer. Mr. Shenkman was also part of the senior management team that raised venture capital for the first independent subrogation services provider in the U.S.
Mr. Shenkman is a graduate of the University of Florida, St. Johns University School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science and New York Law School. Mr. Shenkman is a member of the Florida and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
